Monica L. Gearding Honored at The Ohio Conference for Women

Monica L. Gearding, a partner in the Real Estate and Business and Finance Practice Groups of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, was honored at the third annual Ohio Conference for Women, sponsored by the National Diversity Council (“NDC”).  At the conference, Ms. Gearding was one of 12 recipients for the Glass Ceiling Award, which honors individuals for their commitment to their profession, their achievement of personal success, and their examples of leadership. The conference and award ceremony took place on May 18, 2011 at the Westin Cincinnati Hotel.

The Ohio Conference for Women is a statewide daylong networking and professional development conference with an emphasis on community, networking, entrepreneurship, and women’s health issues. The theme of the conference was, “live well, learn more, and inspire others.”  Ten concurrent sessions with more than 30 presenters comprised the conference.

Ms. Gearding, a resident of Wilder, Kentucky, focuses her law practice on commercial and corporate law, with an emphasis on real estate matters, commercial lending, and consumer finance. She received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, graduating cum laude.  She is a board member and CEO of Advanced Industrial Measurement Systems, Inc. (AIMS) and is in her fourth term as a member of the Wilder, Kentucky City Council.
