Sugar Elected to Easterseals National Board of Directors

Taft Columbus partner Meredith K. Sugar has been elected to the board of directors of the National Easterseals. Her term began Oct. 21, 2016. Sugar previously served as president of the board of directors of Easterseals Central and Southeast Ohio, and she serves as the immediate past-president of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf in Washington, D.C.

“I am thrilled to have been selected to continue my passion for the Easterseals organization on a national scale. The organization is near and dear to my heart, and it will be a privilege to help lead Easterseals’ important mission to transform lives of those with disabilities,” Sugar stated.

Easterseals programs help children, young adults, adults, seniors, veterans and their caregivers coping with disabilities by providing them the tools to live satisfying lives in their communities. With more than 75 national affiliates, Easterseals touches the lives of more than one million individuals annually.

Sugar focuses her law practice in the area of business succession planning, sophisticated wealth transfer and estate planning and administration, tax and general corporate representation. She also advises business owners regarding structuring complex transactions, entity formation, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate needs.
