Meister to Participate in Panel Discussion on Ethical Warnings for Attorneys Working With Charitable Gifts

Taft partner Julia B. Meister will be a panelist in an upcoming CLE presentation titled "One if by Land, Two if by Sea: Ethical Warnings for Attorneys Working with Charitable Gifts" at the American Bar Association Real Property Trust and Estate Law 28th Annual Spring Symposia, which will take place May 12-13 in Boston, Mass. The panel discussion will focus on gifts and bequests to nonprofit entities, including charitable organizations and foundations, legal and ethical issues that may arise when a lawyer with a fiduciary or close relationship with a charity considers representing of a potential donor.

​Meister is a member of Taft's Litigation, Health & Life Sciences and Private Client groups and heads the firm’s Cincinnati Estates, Trusts and Fiduciary Litigation practice. She is an elected fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and is co-chair of the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law. Meister has been selected for inclusion in Ohio Super Lawyers for commercial litigation and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in four categories (Cincinnati Trusts and Estates Litigation Lawyer of the year and ERISA Lawyer of the year).
