Thompson Asked to Serve on New CMBA Professionalism Conciliation Panel

Taft Partner and Chief Diversity Officer Adrian D. Thompson has been asked by the president of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association to serve on its new Professionalism Conciliation Panel. The purpose of the nine-member panel is to help lawyers of Cuyahoga County to improve their interactions and deportment both with each other and with the courts, in accordance with the principles of professionalism set forth in the Statement of Professionalism issued by the Supreme Court of Ohio, as well as in the revised Lawyer’s Creed of Professionalism adopted by the CMBA Board of Trustees in 2013.

The panel composition consists of nine experienced and diverse members of the legal profession who are members of the CMBA and who have a reputation for integrity and professionalism. Panel members are appointed by the CMBA Board of Trustees for a three-year term. The panel shall have the responsibility of addressing, through formal consultation and mediation, calls for assistance received from lawyers or judges with respect to purported non-compliance by lawyers with any of the principles of professionalism.
