Taft Procures Liquor License Upgrades for Trader Joe’s Stores
Taft partner Graham C. Grady successfully procured 20 liquor license upgrades for Trader Joe’s stores in the Chicago metropolitan area. The license upgrade allows the stores to move from selling only beer and wine to now include the sale of spirits. The project took well over a year to complete and in most jurisdictions required an amendment to the local municipal code. Many of the ordinances and applications were unique and required custom-tailored results. The municipalities where Taft achieved this success included five Chicago locations and 15 locations in the suburbs. Taft partner Edward J. Kus also provided assistance.
