Taft Welcomes Two Partners to the Indianapolis Office

Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is pleased to announce that Samuel Hodson and Jeffrey J. Kirk, II have joined the firm’s Indianapolis office as partners. Hodson joins the Business Restructuring, Bankruptcy and Creditor Rights practice group and Kirk joins the Business and Finance practice group.

Hodson helps companies and individuals expand, reorganize, buy, sell and liquidate. His practice is focused on clients in transition who need assistance in acquisitions, debt restructuring, refinancing, workouts and turnarounds. He has represented both healthy and troubled companies and the individuals who own and are employed by them. Hodson also represents municipalities and the organizations with which they do business. This experience includes general obligation bonds, tax increment financing bonds, private/public partnerships, utility rate adjustments, annexation, redevelopment grants and general regulatory matters.

Hodson is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Indiana Bar Association (2014 Vice-Chair of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Committee), the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Indiana Association for Corporate Renewal. He currently serves as a director on the board of Music for All, a national music advocacy organization based in Indianapolis. He also advises, on a pro bono basis, Art With A Heart, Partners in Housing and Trusted Mentors.

Hodson is recognized by Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization and has been named an Indiana Super Lawyer for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights. He has also earned an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Kirk focuses his practice on representing high-growth, expansion stage companies, structuring private equity and venture capital finance transactions and mergers and acquisitions. He also works with clients on state and local economic development and federal incentives programs and public-private partnerships.

Kirk is recognized by Best Lawyers in America for Venture Capital and by the Indianapolis Business Journal as “Forty Under 40.” He has also been named a Rising Star by Indiana Super Lawyers. Kirk is a recipient of the Indiana Leadership Forum’s Outstanding Accomplishments in Business Award and the Venture Club of Indiana’s Member of the Year Award.
