Theodore G. Gertz

THEODORE G. (Ted) GERTZ has over 50 years' experience in estate planning, deferred compensation, succession planning, and related corporate and tax issues. A significant portion of Ted's practice involves representing and assisting in estate tax reduction techniques and succession planning for family-owned and other closely held businesses.

Among other professional honors he has received, Ted is listed in Who’s Who in American Law, Super Lawyers, and is a member of the Leading Lawyers Network. He has been awarded an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for ethical standards and legal ability.
Ted has extensive community leadership experience, including serving as the former trustee of the Village of Mettawa and secretary of Mettawa Open Lands. He has also held numerous public service leadership positions, including:

  • Blind Service Association (President, Trustee, General Counsel, Chair of the Development Committee)
  • Lawyers for the Creative Arts (Auxiliary Board Member)
